Hello there! My name is Ashley Sharp and I am a recent University of Maryland graduate and current resident of Bowie, Maryland. I earned my degree in Government and Politics all while being very active on campus through my sorority, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc., the Black Student Union and the recently chartered Do Better Service Organization. I am truly a civil servant and mentor at heart who applies dedication and organization to empower others! While pushing a number of voting and community service/educational initiatives, I am in the early stages of planning an empowerment blog for minority youth that showcases minorities under 30 who are striving to be the change they wish to see in their communities. My passion currently resides in my work at the Maryland General Assembly as the Director of Constituent Services for a Prince George’s County delegate. Part of being an effective leader is reaching back and touching someone else’s life to help them foresee a brighter tomorrow. I believe this blog and my work with constituents will be my personal touch along with my service through Prince George’s County Young Democrats.
