Patrick Gallaher is a community advocate in Riverdale fighting to make healthcare more accessible to disadvantaged communities. As a private citizen, he works closely with elected officials from Prince George’s County along with Progressive Maryland to develop policy, drawing on his experience working in the Maryland State Senate as well as his work in the private sector analyzing health policy. He was recently recognized as one of Prince George's County's Forty Under 40 for his work.
He first became involved in advocating for Prince George’s County as a Legislative Aide for Senator Victor Ramirez, where he fought to increase protections for victims of violent crimes as well as for workers in dangerous industries. He also was the treasurer of the Prince George’s County Young Democrats from 2012 to 2013. He helped overhaul the finances for the organization, and managed to cut spending without hurting effectiveness while raising the most money in the organization’s history.
